A GREEK BRONZE CUIRASS AND PAIR OF GREAVES 6th-4th Century B. C.

The muscled cuirass with naturalistically modeled breastplate with copper nipples, attachment rings on shoulders on one side, similar backplate, each with remains of hinged fastenings, circa 4th Century B. C., (47 cm) high max.; the greaves with elaborate foliate motifs below the knees, vertical snakes and spirals defining the calf muscles, each with ancient repairs including two riveted plates with raised dots around the perimeter, (42 cm) high.
